1006 is an entry level phone by the very famous Finnish telecom manufacturer (oh! You are a genius! You guessed it rightly as Nokia!). So, needless to say and hopefully you aren’t expecting it too- there are no fancy features in this phone, the data or image transfers doesn’t happen at a great pace and thus, no extensive or in-depth analysis of the features.
You have a 500 contacts phonebook, a voice memo, a speaker phone, SMS and yes, you have the phone! Isn’t that what a phone is actually supposed to do? Yes! The phone is Bluetooth enabled, so you aren’t completely living is the Stone Age! The design too is good and the curves kind-of fit in the palms and the face.
The launch of the CDMA version of 1006 is boon to the users in US. This cell phone is manufactured in San Diego, US and hence, one can expect a lot of ‘add-on’ services from the service providers of North America (the US and Canada to be exact).
Low on budget? Want to gift a phone to your granny just to be in touch with her? Or to your daughter in school, just to keep a track of her? Well, the Nokia 1006 should be your pick- it does everything what a phone does! Unfortunately, the definition of ‘phone’ has changed since long and might be your daughter may laugh off at this piece of ‘old-gadget’ (that too when all her friends have something ‘hip’).
